NGBF extends greetings to Rongmeis

DIMAPUR — The Nagaland Gaon Bura Federation (NGBF) extended greetings to the Rongmei community of Nagaland on the occasion of Chakaan Gaan Ngai, the biggest post-harvest festival of the Rongmei people. In an update, the NGBF wished the Rongmei community peace, prosperity, and a fruitful year ahead. The NGBF also conveyed its best wishes for the successful and grand celebration of the traditional festival.

NPF prez mourns party leader’s demise

DIMAPUR — The president of the Naga People’s Front, Apong Pongener, has mourned the demise of N Nelu, president of the 57th Thonoknyu A/C, on Monday in Dimapur. A statement from him noted that the party deeply mourns his loss, and the void created by his death will be difficult to fill. On his behalf and on behalf of the party rank and file, he extended his deepest condolences to the bereaved family members. He prayed to the Almighty to comfort the bereaved family and loved ones. He also prayed for the soul of the departed to rest in eternal peace.

NCCAF triennial meet on Feb. 7

DIMAPUR — The Nagaland Community Conserved Areas Forum (NCCAF) will hold its triennial conference on February 7th in Dimapur. The NCCAF has therefore requested that all CCA consortiums under the NCCAF attend with at least two participants as the new team of office bearers will be elected, and that the time and venue will be announced shortly via social media.

NSCN/GPRN discharges member

DIMAPUR — The NSCN/GPRN (Niki) has discharged Yolichem Sangtam, a leacy member under the United Sangtam Region (USR), son of Tsapichem, and resident of Longkhim Town, from active national service on health grounds. A release mentioned that a discharge order was issued from the office of the Secretary, Kilo Affairs, appreciating the invaluable service rendered by Yolichem during his brief stint of serving the government and conveying best wishes to him.

Calendars, diaries on sale at DPRO Dimapur

DIMAPUR — Official calendars and diaries for 2024 published by the Government of Nagaland is available for sale at the DPRO Dimapur office. According to an update from DIPR, interested individuals can acquire them during office hours. The office is situated opposite the railway station, near the Royal Palace Hotel.

CPO calls for mass social work on Jan. 27

DIMAPUR — The Chakhroma Public Organisation (CPO) has informed all concerned villages and frontal organisations that there will be a mass social work at State Stadium, near DC Court, on January 27. In an update, the CPO mentioned that this has been necessitated in view of the forthcoming Angami Sekrenyi festival to be held at the said venue on February 24. “In this regard, every responsible member has been requested to participate in the social work positively,” it said.
