NGBF adopts four-point resolution

Dimapur, Oct. 7 (EMN): Nagaland GBs’ Federation (NGBF) has adopted a four-point resolution during its annual executive meeting held on Thursday at Hotel de Oriental Dream in Dimapur.

Regarding the urban GBs nomenclature and its functions, the house resolved to wait for the outcome of the committee supposed to be set up by the government of Nagaland.

The house strongly cautioned all Naga political groups that any assassination attempt on the lives of civil society leaders would not be tolerated adding that such actions would invite appropriate response from NGBF and populace.

The house also resolved that until physical integration of Naga areas is achieved, no part of Intangki reserve forest should be earmarked or set aside for resettlement plans of any political group as part of Indo-Naga political settlement. In the same manner, it stated that without physical integration, population integration would be unacceptable to the NGBF.

The house further resolved to hold its general session at Phek headquarters as and when the situation is conducive.

Meanwhile, the executive members of federating units represented by GBs from all the 12 districts and two sub-division unanimously selected a new team of office bearers for the tenure 2021-25.

The team would be led by L Shahlem Konyak as president, Shikuto Zalipu as general secretary, Kashito Yepthomi from Zunheboto, Along Jamir from Mokokchung, Phunzuhu Vero from Phek, Hangdi from Peren and Hongsa Chang from Tuensang as vice presidents, Setsachu Thongrei from Kiphire, C Pito Pochuri from Meluri, T Mennyei from Longleng, Y Chuba from Mon, Mhonchan Tsapoe from Wokha, and Kehoga Kenth from Tseminyu as joint secretaries.

The house also selected Veniepra Penyei from Kohima as finance secretary and Akhu Naga from Dimapur as media secretary.

This was stated in a joint statement issued by the session convenor, T Nyupuli, and the session secretary, Hetoho Zhimomi.
