DImapur, May 4 (EMN): With an effort to provide more berths to railway passengers of north-eastern region, the Northeast Forntier Railway (NFR) decided to augment the capacity in many trains on permanent basis.
“All the additional coaches will be added permanently by this month,” said the Railway chief public relations officer.
One AC 3 tier coach will be added in the Guwahati – Silchar – Guwahati Fast passenger train from May 6; three general second class coaches will be added in trains running between New Bongaigaon and Guwahati, four general second class coaches in trains running between Rangapara and Rangiya from May 25, four general second class coaches in trains running between Agartala and Garjee and one general second class coache in train running between Agartala and Dharmanagar from May 25; two sleeper class and one AC 3 tier coach will be added in the Katihar – Howrah – Katihar Express from Katihar from May 13; one AC 3 tier coach will be added in Kishanganj – Ajmer Garib Nawaj Express train from Kishanganj from May 14; and one AC 3 tier coach in New Jalpaiguri – Digha Express train from New Jalpaiguri from May 13.
