NFR registers growth in freight loading

DIMAPUR — The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has registered steady growth in freight loading this financial year.

According to a statement by NFR, it loaded 0.883 million tonnes of freight in December 2023. From April to December, total freight loading stood at 7.536 million tonnes.

Key commodities driving freight growth are fertilisers, petrol/oil/lubricants (POL), ballast and other miscellaneous goods. Fertiliser loading went up 26.1%, POL 39.4%, ballast 57.1% and other commodities 27.8% compared to the same period last fiscal.
