NFR records highest in passenger earnings

Dimapur, Sep. 30 (EMN): As per data released by the Statistical Branch of Railway Board, total growth in originating passenger volume in Northeast Frontier Railway (NER) is over 7% higher than proportionate target and 7.47% over last year’s achievement. This growth is highest amongst all zones under Indian Railways. Similarly making passenger earnings in NFR upto August, 2018 has increased by 12.15% over last year, whereas the growth in Indian railways during this period is 3.77%, the Chief Public Relations Officer Pranav Jyoti Sharma stated. It is to be mentioned that as a result of the impetus on connectivity proliferation in northeast by Railway Ministry, as many as 59 pairs of new trains have been introduced in the zone during the period from 2014 to 2018. The increase in passenger volume is a direct result of the introduction of new services in the region and the betterment of the existing services.
