NFR General Manager inspects projects in Katihar division
DIMAPUR — With an aim to review the progress of various developmental works, assess facilities at different locations, and discuss plans for infrastructural development and business expansion, General Manager of Northeast Frontier Railway (N.F. Railway), Chetan Kumar Shrivastava, inspected railway facilities at Balurghat, Gangarampur, Eklakhi and New Jalpaiguri stations under Katihar Division on Thursday.
He was accompanied by Surendra Kumar, Divisional Railway Manager of Katihar with senior officials of headquarters and division, said an update by Chief Public Relations Officer, Sabyasachi De.
The general manager inspected the ongoing developmental projects, amenities, marshalling yards and coaching yards, window trailing, and safety related gears at the railway stations, as well as took feedback from the railway officials.
He also conducted thorough inspection of the ongoing activities and examined the developmental plans of new station building, crew lobby, foot over-bridge, platform and other passenger amenities, before holding a meeting with MLA of Gangarampur, Satyendra Nath Ray to discuss issues that need to be addressed, said the update.
Shrivastava also inspected the ongoing station redevelopment activities on the New Jalpaiguri station, which will be transformed into an International Train Terminal to provide better, additional and enhanced passenger amenities, for which work has already started.
He briefed journalists about the developmental activities being taken up in the zone, during the inspection, it was informed.
