Dimapur, Nov. 27 (EMN): The Central Finger Print Bureau (CFPB) under National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) reported that the Nagaland Finger Print Division (NFPD) has reported 382 number often-digit finger print slips of convicted persons in its record as on December 31, 2021.
The record remained the same as in the year 2019 with 382, which was published in 2021. However, the number of finger print record (conviction) slips recorded in the year 2021 was nil. Except for Assam with 48 cases and Mizoram with six cases, rest of the Northeast states reported nil.
Finger Prints in India 2021, in its 25th annual publication of the NCRB, has highlighted the progress and endeavour (performance) of CFPB and state finger print bureaux (SFPBx) including the activities, achievements, database status, trainings to name a few during the calendar year 2021.
The Finger Print Bureau was established in Dimapur on February 26, 1982, and functioning as a FP division under the control of Forensic Science Laboratory, Nagaland. The FPD is headed by a joint director under the control of Inspector General of Police, CID Nagaland.
In the number of document cases in the state, total number of disputed document cases received for examination during the year 2021 was six for government, while banks, insurance and others were nil.
The report stated that the first ZYGOX PC automated fingerprint identification system (AFIS) was installed on August 4, 2003, and the present AFIS installed was of NEC 3.06 (NG).
Availability of other scientific tools and equipments at finger print bureau in Nagaland included latent print specialist kit, poly ray, iodine fuming chamber and AFIS. The figure of the finger print transactional activities of CFPB and state finger print bureau are based on the receipt from the Finger Print Bureau and from police station.
