NFHRCC executive members are seen during inspection to the ongoing foothill road works in Baghty area in Wokha district on Wednesday.

Dimapur, Nov. 23 (EMN): The Nagaland Foothill Road Coordination Committee (NFHRCC) has appealed to the department concerned to release the running bills to the contractors basing on their performance as agreed upon on July 23, 2022.

NFHRCC has made this appeal following a inspection tour to foothill road construction under Baghty division in Wokha district on the invitation of the PWD (R&B) led by its chief engineer, Kevide Nakhro and the additional chief engineer on November 23.

It mentioned that the road construction is being undertaken by M/S T Tachu & Co and representatives of Lotha Lower Range civil society organisations including LLRPO and YAPO.

NFHRCC has appreciated the chief engineer and his team for taking initiatives to visit the motorable foothills road constructions. The committee expressed hope that the department would initiate inaugurating the historic Nagaland’s longest bridge at the Governor’s Camp, Liphanyan, at the earliest.

The committee has further thanked the state government and the construction firm, M/S L Pukhato Shohe & Sons, for completing the bridge construction despite numerous challenges over the years.

This was stated in a joint press release issued by NFHRCC convenor, Supu Jamir; co-convenor, Hokiye Yepthomi; secretary, W Lemba Chang; and assistant general secretary, Chenithung Humtsoe.
