DIMAPUR — Contrary to its earlier technical report which was stated that 75-89% of the works had been completed with regard to Tuli division executed by M/s W Chingkam Phom & Co, the Nagaland Foothill Road Coordination Committee (NFHRCC) clarified that the NOC remained pending as there are few public complaints notably from the Bharatiya Janata Party of 21 Tuli mandal and Tuli Joint Council Forum pertaining to the actual executions of work from Anaki C to Yajang C via Tsudikong stretch, which is to be re-verified as per the specifications of the DPR.

NFHRCC stated that on June 9 and 10, a joint inspection team led by its convenor, Supu Jamir, and co-convenor, Hokiye Yepthomi, along with divisional officials from PWD (R&B) conducted an on-spot inspection of the foothill road construction. The inspection was conducted on the work executed by M/s RK Construction (Dimapur/ Niuland division) and M/s HH Co. Construction & Supplier (Tizit division).

During the verification, NFHRCC found that the construction works had been executed as per DPR specification with 100% completed at both Dimapur/ Niuland and Tizit divisions. However, it stated that a medium bridge and a slap culvert was necessary under Dimapur division at Tadi River towards Hovekhu village and on Niuland and Wokha district boundary of Kimpur River to make the foothills road connectivity complete.

While appreciating the government of Nagaland under the leadership of the chief minister, Neiphiu Rio, for sanctioning an amount of INR 20 crore during 2022-23 fiscal year for a motorable foothills road construction, NFHRCC urged the concerned authority to release the requisite pending bills to the construction firms wherever deemed fit.

It further appealed to the competent authority of PWD (R&B) to consider constructing the bridge/ culvert over the two rivulets to make the road pliable at the earliest.
