Dimapur, November 1

The Nagaland Foothill Road Coordination Committee (NFHRCC) in an emergency meeting this evening expressed their disbelief and surprise regarding the news item which was published on November 1 under the heading ‘R & B Minister accepts NFHRCC apology.’ In the publication, R & B Minister Azo Nienu had stated in the media that the NFHRCC members had tendered apology and the same was accepted by him as he is a Christian and as a leader he did not want to jeopardize the ongoing Foothill project.
In this regard the NFHRCC highlighted some facts in the light of misunderstanding between the committee and the R & B Minister Azo Nienu.
According to the committee, on October 10 at the official residence of DC Dimapur Wezope Kenye, the concerned minister and the NFHRCC committee members had a joint meeting wherein both the parties agreed upon the principle of ‘forgive and forget’ in view of all the misunderstandings. The DC Dimapur rendered his yeoman service to bridge the gap between the parties.
While on October 29, Azo Nienu had invited the committee members at his official residence in Kohima to work out the modalities of the ongoing Foothill road construction and the same was highlighted through media on October 31for public consumption, the committee added.
In the said two meetings, the NFHRCC members through mutual understanding wholly agreed on the principle of ‘forgive and forget’ that is needless to explain in today’s civilized society, the committee members also stated.
Through various factual points, the NFHRCC committee has strongly opposed the new item published on November 1 as it contradicts to the understanding arrived at on October 10 at the official residence of the DC Dimapur and subsequently at the official residence of R & B Minister on October 29, it further said.
It is also brought to the notice of the public that on both the meetings (10/10/2014 and 29/10/2014), the DC Dimapur was present while on 29/10/2014 Chief Engineer (CE) PWD D. Meru and Architect engineer Logos Rengma were present.
