Dimapur, May 26 (EMN): Observing that some members were persistently irregular in the committee’s proceedings resulting in creating miscommunication gap at the grass-root levels, Nagaland Foothill Road Coordination Committee (NFHRCC) has appealed to all the apex tribal bodies to revamp and reactive the redundant representatives for the survival of historic project.
The appeal was made during its emergency meeting held on May 25 at Dimapur.
NFHRCC has expressed gratitude to the Zeliang People’s Organisation (ZPO) in obtaining “No Objection Certificate” to provide free land without any compensation. The committee also appealed to other tribals to apply the same yardstick in donating land to the government to expedite in making the historic people’s survival project a success.
NFHRCC also thanked the contractor of the Doyang Bridge at Governor’s camp, Liphanyan village under Wokha district, M/S L Pukhato Shohe & Sons for continuing the construction of the bridge as agreed upon and further urged to complete it by the year end as desired by the people.
NFHRCC further thanked the Chief Minister, Nephiu Rio, for his personal intervention in upgrading the foothill road to that of a two lane expressway under MORTH. It urged to start the construction work at the earliest as per the NH specifications.
