DIMAPUR — Nagaland Football Association (NFA) president, K NeibouSekhose, and head of referees, Nagaland, Kevingutuo, officially launched the new jerseys of the Kohima Press Club on Thursday at ReiphinyüBadze, Vürie, Kohima.
During the launching programme, the NFA president, who is also the sponsor of the new KPC jerseys, said the press is the backbone of society and that to have a vibrant society, a vibrant and strong press is needed.
“I am happy to sponsor the jerseys as a sign of appreciation for what you do for the sporting community in particular and society in general,” Sekhose said.
He maintained that sports unite people from different backgrounds, and it was good to see that journalists also engage in sports as a recreational activity.
“Keep it up, keep fit, and keep up your good work towards society,” he exhorted the press club members. The KPC also appreciated the NFA president’s constant encouragement and support for the media fraternity in Kohima.
The new KPC colours were launched a day ahead of a football exhibition match to be played against the Morning Premier League management committee.
The exhibition match will be played on September 1 at 9 am at IG Stadium as part of the closing ceremony of the ongoing MPL 2023.
