NF Railway launches special anti-corruption drive

Dimapur, Feb. 1 (EMN): A special 72 hrs drive was launched from Jan. 31 to check corruption in railway establishment as per directives of the Railway Ministry.
A press release issued by the NF Railway Maligaon on Feb. 1 mentioned that the drive will specially cover commercial establishments throughout the NFR.
An awareness drive is also said to have launched to create awareness amongst railway users and to discourage corrupt practices involving the railway officials.
Two vigilance helpline numbers 155210 and 9435550967 were launched for general public to inform about the corrupt practices.
N.F.Railway authority is said to be taking all measure to check possible means of corruption. A zero tolerance policy is being followed upon to check corrupt practices. Common people are requested to help railway authority in their mission to stop corrupt practices, the release stated.
Also to get rid of any mal practices involving public interface, a special 72 hours drive is said to have been launched from 6 pm since Jan. 31. Decoy checks are planned and is said to have been carried out besides ‘Samvaad’ with staff to sensitize them so as to present clean image and take a pledge to get rid of malpractices.
All divisions are also said to have launched concentrated drive for 72 hours to send messages to the staff that railway will not tolerate any kind of mal practices.
Surprise night checks at booking counters, windows, reservation counters, parcel office, left luggage office, TTE’s office and train checks have been carried out.
Almost 42 different locations checks were carried out along with the RPF personnel. N F Railway has put up some phone numbers of responsible officers i.e Chief Commercial Manager / Passenger Marketing (9957550951), Deputy Chief Commercial Manager / Passenger Marketing (9957550962), Deputy Chief Vigilance Officer / Traffic (9957550061) & Help Line No.9957550959 at public interface locations along with the social portal and other complaints reprisal windows.
