Dimapur, Jan. 29 (EMN):
The valedictory programme of the two-day North East Zone Cultural Centre’s (NEZCC) stone sculpture workshop was conducted on Wednesday at the NEZCC’s Stone Sculpture Garden.

Speaking during the programme, Dimapur’s Deputy Commissioner Anoop Khinchi, being an art lover himself, spoke about the importance of art that identifies with one’s culture and identity. He emphasised on the importance of organising such events providing platform to people to exhibit their culture through art.

The official lauded the organising team for arranging and making the programme a success. He urged organising more such programmes even in the days to come to motivate the younger generation to adopt art.

The workshop provided a platform for stone sculptors and artists from the Northeast states to focus on sculpture representing various cultures of the region. Two members from every Northeast state, except Sikkim, participated in the two-day workshop.

Certificates were given to the sculptors at the programme.
