NEZ CISF chief visits DHEP Wokha

Dimapur, Aug. 26 (EMN): The director inspector general (DIG) of Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), North-Eastern Zone (NEZ) with its headquarters in Guwahati, Siddhartha Sankar Sarmah, visited CISF unit station at Doyang Hydro Electric Project (DHEP) in Wokha district on August 24 and held a meeting with the DHEP officials for better coordination between the two entities.

Speaking at the meeting at the Sainik Sammelan, he urged the security unit to maintain healthy body and healthy mind through exercises and to be aware of cultural traits and stay in touch with the local community. He also encouraged the jawans to actively involve in community outreach programmes undertaken by the unit to promote peace and strictly follow the Covid-19 standard operating procedures (SOP) while performing their duties, stated a DIPR report on Thursday.   

After the meeting, the DIG visited all the duty posts within the plant and interacted with the jawans. He also inspected the sapling plantation site maintained by the unit as part of its community outreach programme.

For the benefit of the local community, the DIG inaugurated two canteens sanrakshika and wet canteen and multipurpose gym. He also participated in community soccer and badminton matches organised by the unit where surrounding villages also participated.

The DIG was accompanied by the group commandant of CISF Group HQ Guwahati, Harendra Narayan.
