Chairman of the Committee on Public Undertakings, Nagaland Legislative Assembly, Imkong L Imchen, MLA, has convened the introductory-cum-adoption meeting of the newly-constituted committee for the year 2023-2024, on May 17 at 11 am in the Assembly Committee Room. The meeting will take stock of unfinished business of the committee and also chalk out work programmes for 2023-2024, an official notification stated.
MoS Bhoumik to inaugurate Rozgar Mela in Dimapur
Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment, Pratima Bhoumik, will inaugurate the 5th tranche of Rozgar Mela on May 16 at Imliyanger Memorial Centre Hall, Fellowship Colony, Dimapur. The Rozgar Mela, hosted by the Postmaster General, North East-II Region, will commence from 9 am onwards, and updated stated. During the Rozgar Mela, a large number of appointment letters of various central departments of North East Region will be issued, it stated.
Wokha tea growers’ association convenes meeting
The Wokha District Small Tea Growers’ Association (WDSTGA) has convened an emergency meeting on May 19 at 11 am at Orchid Colony Community Hall, Wokha Town. It has informed all the tea farmers in the district to attend the said meeting.

The Chokri Chakhesang Literature Board (CCLB) will hold its 2023 general conference on May 19 at Town Hall, Pfustero town, on the theme ‘Reinvigorating mother tongue.’
Advisor, Civil Administration Works Division (CAWD) & Taxes, Kudecho Khamo, will be the special guest of the event, CCLB informed in an update. In the inaugural session, CCLB chairman, Ariyi Nienu, will deliver the keynote address. CCLB advisor, Zhovehu Lohe and CCLB diploma certificate committee member, Nuveta Khesoh, the resource persons, will speak on the topics ‘The need and importance of mother tongue’ and “Progress and status of Chokri literature works,’ respectively. The board has invited leaders/representatives from various frontal Chakhesang organisations and all Chokri-speaking villages to attend the event.
ANHTU elects new office bearers for 2023-26
The All Nagaland Hindi Teachers’ Union (ANHTU) has elected a new team of office bearers for the tenure 2023-26. The new team will be led by Kekhrieneilie Tsikhano as President, Konthungo Lotha as Vice President, Prakash as General Secretary, S Vilhou Krocha as Joint Secretary, Ethel Sebu as Treasurer, Nungshi Meren as Information Secretary, Vetoho Sema as Asst. Information Secretary, and Vungthunglo Lotha as Finance Secretary, Sentimenla, Khriemenuo and Opangmenla have been elected cultural secretaries, while Ruchunlo Tep and Waisemba are members of the advisory board. Presidents of Mokokchung, Zunheboto and Wokha units are members of the audit committee, while Ruchenlo Tep and Prakash will lead the Magazine Committee. All district unit presidents and secretaries are executive members, it informed.

The Power department, Dimapur has informed that there will be shutdown of power supply for 11kV Airport, Purana Bazaar and Veterinary Feeders on May 16, and 18 to the 20th from 4 am to 8 am. This is being done for construction of 11kV trunk line to strengthen the 11kV feeders along main road in Dimapur town, the update said. The affected areas will be Burma Camp, Purana Bazaar, parts of Walford, Naharbari, Darogajan, Padumpukhuri, Darogapathar and its adjoining areas. All the public in the affected areas have been requested to extend cooperation and bear with the inconvenience during the shutdown period.
DMC informs trade license defaulters on new management system
Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) has informed all the existing registered trade license holders who have not renewed their licenses and defaulted have been declared as cancelled or invalid from May 16.2023. All unregistered or defaulters of trade license can apply under the new trade license management system with payment of one time registration fee and security deposit equivalent to one year trade license and sanitary services fees as per the new terms and conditions laid down for issuance of trade license under DMC, it informed. Further, it also notified that the office of DMC would be undertaking physical verification and mapping of all shops and business establishments under DMC jurisdiction and defaulters will be penalised. Therefore, all the unregistered and defaulters of trade license have been directed to immediately apply for registration to avoid initiation of action and penalties as per provision of terms and conditions laid down by DMC.
Rozgar Mela to be held at IMC Hall on May 16
Office of the Postmaster General Northeast Region II, Dimapur will be hosting 5th tranche of Rozgar Mela for Northeast region at Imliyanger Memorial Centre (IMC) Hall in Dimapur on May 16 from 9 am. During the programme, appointment letters of various Central government departments will be issued by the Prime Minister virtually, an update stated. Pratima Bhoumik, Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment will attend the programme as the chief guest.
