Patton lauds police for release of abducted head GB
DIMAPUR — Deputy Chief Minister Y Patton has appreciated the Nagaland Police for their swift action that led to the release of Kiyeto Zhimomi, Vikuho village head GB and businessman, after his abduction. In a statement, the deputy CM stated that such timely intervention reflects the commitment of the police force to uphold public safety and respond decisively to acts of violence and intimidation. Reiterating that abduction and violence are unacceptable and will not be tolerated, Patton affirmed that the “authorities will proceed in accordance with established procedures as the situation develops. The government remains committed to ensuring accountability through lawful means.” Patton further expressed relief that Zhimomi has been released and is now under care, while acknowledging the trauma he has endured.
NPSC officials to take oath on Jan. 23
DIMAPUR — The Personnel & Administrative Reforms department has nominated the chief secretary of Nagaland, to administer the oath of secrecy to the newly appointed chairman and members of the Nagaland Public Service Commission (NPSC), on January 23 at 12 noon at the conference hall of Nagaland Civil Secretariat, Kohima. All administrative heads of departments have been requested to make it convenient to attend the oath-taking ceremony, a DIPR report stated.

Home dept. notifies on PC advance grant
DIMAPUR — The Home department (loan branch), Government of Nagaland, has informed all state government employees that application form for grant of personal computer advance for FY 2025-2026 will be issued from January 19 onwards. According to an official bulletin, applications will be accepted until February 13. No applications will be entertained after the deadline.
DIMAPUR — Deputy Commissioner of Mokokchung, Ajit Kumar Verma, has informed the village councils of Ungma, Mokokchung, Chuchuyimpang and Khensa, GBs of Mokokchung town and functionaries of all the 18 wards and the public of Mokokchung town that the 77th Republic Day celebration programme will commence at 8:30 am at Imkongmeren Sports Complex, Mokokchung, on January 26. The deputy commissioner requested all to come and be a part of the celebration, a DIPR report stated.
