RALOA urges work suspension
DIMAPUR — The Railway Affected Landowners Association (RALOA) has acknowledged the positive response displayed by the Union Railway Ministry over the long-standing land-related issue between the Railways and landowners in Dimapur. In a press release, the association stated that Nagaland government too has expressed its serious concern by constituting a High Power Committee (HPC) to hammer out an amicable solution at the earliest. However, it has come to the notice of RALOA that the Railways are carrying out certain developmental work at areas under dispute, it stated. The RALOA appealed to the Railways to restrain from such activities until a final agreement is made between the concerned parties.
NWHD hosts career seminar
DIMAPUR — Naga Women Hoho Dimapur (NWHD), in collaboration with Christian Higher Secondary School (CHSS) Dimapur, under the aegis of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, organised a career guidance seminar at CHSS auditorium. Deputy Commissioner of Dimapur Tinojongshi Chang attended the event as the guest of honour, while the seminar session was conducted by Rajan K Baruah, career mentor and skill trainer, an update stated. President of NWHD, Y Imlinungla delivered the keynote address in the programme chaired by NWHD general secretary Zuchumpeni Ngullie. Around 700 students and faculty attended the programme.

NSCN (Niki) recovers 2 wheelers
DIMAPUR — The NSCN/GPRN (Niki) has recovered two 2-wheelers namely Jawa 42 Bobber (motorcycle) bearing registration number NL 07 ED 4329 with chassis number MZDJ31C16S1A55688 and engine number PBD-RM-016107 and Activa DLX (Scooty) bearing registration number NL07 EC 3780 with chassis number ME4JK156EPW130666 and engine number JK15EW5130772. The rightful owners have been directed to claim the same by producing valid documents within seven days. The concerned persons have asked to its official on phone number 8413825947 for necessary information.
Mon DPDB meeting held
DIMAPUR — The monthly meeting of the Mon District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) was held on March 24 at the DC’s conference hall, Mon. Additional Deputy Commissioner of Mon, Pakon Phom presided over the proceeding, a DIPR report stated. After reviewing the minutes of the previous meeting, the ADC opened an agenda for registration of ECO HUB Society, Wakching. After a brief deliberation, the house forwarded the matter to the higher authority for registration of the society. Pakon also highlighted about the new location of the GPS Shamnyu ward, Mon town.
Kiphire meet reviews Highways Act
DIMAPUR — A consultative meeting was held at the conference hall of the deputy commissioner, Kiphire, on March 26. The meeting deliberated on matters pertaining to the adoption of the National Highways Act, 1956 in Nagaland. According to a DIPR report, Temsuwati Longkumer, deputy commissioner, Kiphire, chaired the consultative meeting.
SDU lauds PMGSY road works
DIMAPUR — The Sema-Dimasa Union (SDU) of Aqahuto and Dhansiripar area has appreciated the road construction works being carried out under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) in Dhansiripar sub-division during 2025–26. In a statement, the union appealed to the public and political workers to cooperate with the implementing agency to ensure timely completion of the project with quality workmanship as per departmental specifications. It cautioned that any form of taxation imposed on contractors could compromise the quality of the work and urged all concerned to extend support in the interest of development in the sub-division. The union also expressed gratitude to the local MLAs and leaders for facilitating the ongoing construction works, stating that the projects would not have been possible without their support.
