DIMAPUR — The Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) has directed all wet markets, particularly butcher shops and fish and fowl shops within its jurisdiction, to strictly follow specific guidelines regarding hygiene and rates. The directives stated that all shopkeepers shall display the KMC-approved rate chart. It stated that cut meat should be covered with appropriate cover. Furthermore, the use of digital weighing machines and the wearing of aprons is mandatory, and hygienic conditions must be maintained. The KMC warned that defaulters shall be penalised.
NMDA mourns demise of treasurer’s father
DIMAPUR — The Nagaland Medicine Dealers Association (NMDA) has expressed sadness over the demise of Suwa Lal Barjatiya, who passed away on January 27 at Sikar, Rajasthan. According to a press release, Barjatiya was the father of the association’s treasurer, Naresh Jain. The association stated that the loss is a monumental grief, and the NMDA fraternity stands in solidarity with Jain and his family during this hour of darkness.
