Shops in Mkg to remain partially closed

As requested by the Ao Senden, business establishments in Mokokchung town shall remain partially closed on May 2 on account of Moatsu celebration. MCCI informed that shops and business establishments will remain closed during the Moatsu celebration programme at lmkongmeren Sports Complex and will open after the functions are over. Transport department notifies

In compliance to the judgment order dated March 29, passed by the Supreme Court of India in the W.P.(C) NO. 13029 of 1985 (under Article 32 of the constitution of India), the Transport Department, has notified that vehicles of two wheeler, three wheeler, four wheeler or commercial vehicles that are not Bharat Stage IV (BS-IV) compliant shall not be sold in the State of Nagaland by any manufacturer or dealer with effect from April 1. All the vehicle registering authorities under the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 are prohibited from registering such vehicles with effect from April 1 that do not meet BS-IV emission standards, except on proof that such vehicles have already been sold on or before March 31.

Medziphema youths issue prohibition notice

Medziphema Village Youth Organisation and Medziphema Village Students’ Union in its joint meeting decided to take stern action against any person(s) found partying using alcohol or other intoxicants within Medziphema jurisdiction. The notice has been issued after reports of broken alcohol bottles found at some government department premises/near river banks. MVYC and MVSU urged the government departments to keep vigil within their premises.

Ex-servicemen rally at Jakhama

Brig KK Roy Choudhury, SM, VSM (Retd), Director of Directorate of Sainik Welfare and Resettlement, Nagaland has informed that ex-servicemen rally will be held at Jakhama Military Station on May 5 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. for Kohima, Phek, Kiphire, Wokha and Zunheboto districts. All ex-servicemen, widows and accompanying dependents of the above districts have been requested to attend along with their ID card, Pension Payment Order (PPO) and bank pass book to resolve pension anomalies, if any. The concerned are also requested to inform their respective Zila Sainik Welfare offices regarding their attendance by May 3 to facilitate administrative arrangements.

DDGBA emergency meeting

Dimapur District GB Association (DDGBA) has convened an emergency meeting on May 2 at 9 a.m. at the Dimapur GB Union office (SADAR) Supermarket, Dimapur. All the office bearers have been requested to attend positively.
Tuensang DPDB meeting
The Tuensang District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) monthly meeting has been convened on May 6, 11 a.m. at Deputy Commissioner Conference Hall. All DPDB members have been requested to attend the meeting positively.

SAH executive meeting

Sumi Aphuyemi Hoho (SAH) has convened an executive meeting on May 6, 10 a.m. at Pughoboto Area Kukami Hoho Conference Hall, Pughoboto. All the executives, advisors, village representative, representative of different organizations and office bearers have been requested to attend the meeting positively.

Mokokchung DPDB meeting postponed

Mokokchung District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) monthly meeting scheduled on May 7 has been postponed to May 9 at 11 a.m. in the Conference Hall of ADC Planning. All the members have been requested to take note of the change.

Former state president of NCP resigns

Former State President Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) & National Joint Convenor of Legal Cell of NCP, Povotso Lohe has issued his declaration to all concerned that he has resigned both from primary and active membership of NCP on personal ground with immediate effect as NCP, a recognised National political party has lost its relevance. He thanked all the party leaders and workers who had worked hand in hand with him for the NCP for the last 15 years.
