Newmarket panchayat bans plastic wrappers

Kohima, November 22 (EMN): The new market (Ser) area panchayat have passed an order to all shopkeepers under their jurisdiction to ban the use of plastics as wrappers for products.
Ruokuobizo Nyusuo, chairman, new market (Ser) area, wards no.8, in a general information addressed to the public and shopkeepers under its jurisdiction that basing on the resolution of all the 19 wards of Kohima in the meeting of the stakeholders on 31 October, 2018, the ward has resolved to ban the use of plastics for wrapping paan, tamul and sweets ( small packets) in it’s respective colonies.

No shopkeepers in the colony shall use plastics as wrappers with effect from November 21,2018 .
