Dimapur, Feb. 1 (EMN): A weekly market for Kiphire was inaugurated in Kiphire by Reny Wilfred, additional deputy commissioner of Kiphire, as part of an empowerment initiative for women and farmers.
In his speech during the event, Wilfred urged stakeholders to unite and to support the initiative and make the weekly Friday Bazaar, at the Kiphire town market complex, to grow bigger and to uplift women and farmers through marketing, updates stated.
The stalls in the market were opened by six self-help groups and farmers from nearby villages, the updates stated. Various food items, ornaments, local bread, vegetables, fish and meat etc are sold at the market, it was informed.
