New traffic regulations out for assembly session

Dimapur, Aug. 3 (EMN): The Kohima district authorities have listed a number of traffic regulations that shall be enforced as part of security arrangements during the 4th session of the 13th Nagaland Legislative Assembly, which starts from August 6 in Kohima. The police establishment of Kohima issued a press release to the media on Saturday informing about the new regulations. Only vehicles with the following car passes will be allowed entry to the assembly secretariat: ‘A’ (White letter with a red background) ‘B’ (Black letter with a yellow background) Assembly logo ‘LH’ (White with a black background) ‘O’ (White letter with a green background) ‘On assembly duty’ (Red letter with a white background) Parking No vehicle will be allowed to be parked by the roads at the following routes from 6:00 AM during the assembly sessions: From BSNL telephone exchange till Classic Island; Raj Bhavan till MS Classic Island; Classic Island to Tinpati via Razhü point; and from Tinpati to Billy Graham Road via Don Bosco junction. Heavy vehicles Further, heavy vehicles will not be allowed to ply from the Tinpati junction to the assembly secretariat via Don Bosco junction. All heavy vehicles including govt. department buses shall take the Tinpati-High school-Merima-Secretariat road vice versa. “Heavy vehicles will not be allowed to ply in Kohima town during assembly sessions, from 0600 hrs till the session is over. All loading and unloading of goods in Kohima town should be completed by 0600 hrs (morning) during assembly session,” the police stated. Heavy vehicles will not be allowed to be parked along the ‘D’ block road. “While anticipating positive co-operation from the public, the police will tow away the defaulting vehicles and the charges will be borne by the vehicles owners,” the police stated.
