New traffic regulations in Dimapur

EMN DIMAPUR, FEBRUARY 17 Commissioner of Police in Dimapur has issued new regulations for traffic in the city, which will come into force from February 22, according to a press release issued by the Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police. Under the new regulations, the Old Dhansiri Bridge will be open to two way traffic from February 22 with specified timing for ‘up’ and ‘down’ vehicles, that is vehicles leaving and entering Dimapur. Vehicles through Old Dhansiri Bridge will leave Dimapur, except on Wednesday, from 6 am to 2pm, and will enter the city, except on Wednesday, from 2pm to 8 pm. On Wednesdays, this route will be open only for vehicles leaving the city. It is further stated that ‘these arrangements are only for the light vehicles on both ways. Heavy vehicles are restricted in the route at all times.As approved by the RTA Dimapur, the Dimapur Police is set to issue certified cards to all auto rickshaws from February 22. It will be mandatory for auto rickshaws plying in Dimapur district to display the card from April 1 next. The card will show the particulars about the driver and owner. The Police Commissioner has also asked the bus passengers to avail services from the ISBT terminus at Purana Bazaar as all inter-state buses have been shifted there. The motorists and riders have been
