New Reserve Colony lays foundation stone for community hall
DIMAPUR — A foundation stone for construction of a community hall at New Reserve Colony comprising Diary Farm, New Reserve, and Phesa Basa under Kohima Ward 16 was unveiled by Beizo M Kuotsu, chairman of Phesama village council, on April 21.

Speaking as special guest, Koutsu stated that a community could only progress when there are good leaders. He has lauded the colony leaders for working in unity with the vision to develop and work for the betterment of the colony.

The speaker further called upon the colony to work hand in hand with the land donors and the village and take ownership of the property for the development of everyone.

In a short speech, Vikehiekho Kintso, chairman of New Reserve Panchayat, expressed that the colony faced difficulties to conduct community services in the past due to absence of a community hall. However, with generous donation by land owners from Phesama village, he stated that it would go a long way in addressing the problems of the colony dwellers.

Kintso also lamented that due to halting of urban local bodies (ULB) elections for many years, there has been lack of funds and resources to set up the hall. He added that with donation and help from various people, a small beginning has been made possible.

Speeches were also delivered by Vilepi Kuotsu, chairman of Viyiema Khel and Ketholese Thanyü, president of Landowners’ Union, New Reserve  Phesama.

Rev. Vesotsü Rhakho from Police Union Baptist Church said the dedication prayer for the foundation stone, while the welcome address was delivered by Avono Leizietsu, chairperson of New Reserve Women Organisation (NRWO). New Reserve Colony
