New ‘Nagamese’ film released

Correspondent Kohima, December 21 President of North East NGOs Federation, Vekho Swüro released a Nagamese film titled “A love story of John and Merry” in Kohima yesterday.The movie directed by Nutsolu Medeo is about two people in love but torn apart by social issues like class, status and responsibilities. It brings in its fold a touch of sentimentalism as the hero and the heroine are constantly separated by the social demands. The movie also tries to present the depth of the constant pressures that people face due to the gaps in social status. Spiritual element has also been portrayed in the movie. The female lead character in her struggle and battle with life portrays the ultimate need of our people- God and His peace in a life torn and tossed by problems and miseries. She said the story has surely been made romantic at the same time realistic. Addressing the gathering Swüro congratulated the director and her film crew while also encouraging them to concentrate on folklores and stories from the villages in order to take the Nagas to outside world. He also encouraged them to work in producing some English movies. Acknowledging the financial and other logistic constraints faced by the producers and directors of the film, he assured to extent all possible support in approaching the Union Ministry of Tribal Affairs. Deacon of CBCMH Vedusayi Soho said that the invocation while Pastor of CBC Kohima Kevekhalo Lasuh pronounced the benediction.
