New ‘Mortal Kombat’ trailer has fans drooling over its fight scenes
Dimapur, Feb. 19 (EMN): The first trailer for the upcoming Mortal Kombat reboot movie was released yesterday, and fans are drooling over how ‘fatalities‘ in the fight scenes were depicted.
The new Mortal Kombat reboot movie is based on the immensely popular video game franchise of the same name. The video game is known for its visceral finishing moves called ‘fatalities‘ where the winner inflicts a brutal and gruesome finishing move onto their defeated opponent.
The red band trailer is loaded with scenes featuring dismembered body parts and due to the violence depicted on the trailer, it is only available on Twitter. The YouTube version of the trailer is a much shorter and toned-down version released by Warner Bros.

Mortal Kombat hits theatres and HBO Max on April 16. One thing we can be certain of after watching the trailer is that the movie is definitely not going to hold back on the violence (as it should be) and fans of the franchise are hyped because of it.
That was absolutely fantastic… but, even more fantastic is casting Hiroyuki Sanada as Scorpion.

Here is the official synopsis of the film: In “Mortal Kombat,” MMA fighter Cole Young, accustomed to taking a beating for money, is unaware of his heritage—or why Outworld’s Emperor Shang Tsung has sent his best warrior, Sub-Zero, an otherworldly Cryomancer, to hunt Cole down. Fearing for his family’s safety, Cole goes in search of Sonya Blade at the direction of Jax, a Special Forces Major who bears the same strange dragon marking Cole was born with. Soon, he finds himself at the temple of Lord Raiden, an Elder God and the protector of Earthrealm, who grants sanctuary to those who bear the mark. Here, Cole trains with experienced warriors Liu Kang, Kung Lao and rogue mercenary Kano, as he prepares to stand with Earth’s greatest champions against the enemies of Outworld in a high stakes battle for the universe. But will Cole be pushed hard enough to unlock his arcana—the immense power from within his soul—in time to save not only his family, but to stop Outworld once and for all?
