As a mark of respect to New Market ‘B’ soccer player Medosetuo Suohu who breathed his last on September 23, the New Market XI team today dedicated their match and victory to the departed soul.
Medosetuo Suohu, before his demise, took part in the ongoing NSF Martyrs Memorial Trophy representing New Market ‘B’. His team had lost to Forerunners 4th NAP Battalion, Thizama, in the first round on September 18.
Mention be made that late Medosetuo, a young and promising footballer, succumbed to his injury after he was beaten by a group of people on the said day at Box Cutting area, Kohima.Tears rolled down among his friends, teammates and relatives as the players and spectators at Khuochiezie Ground observed a minute silence before the match. As was seen, many of the New Market ‘B’ players were also present on the day to watch the match and support the New Market senior team.
Going by the goal celebration of Rhitsho Mero, the salute will go a long way as a fond memory for New Market players and soccer fans every time they make their entry into Kohima Local Ground.
