New Market, Hong Kong Market, Hazi Park in Dimapur to reopen on Sep. 4
Dimapur, Sep. 2 (EMN): The deputy commissioner of Dimapur has announced that popular marketplaces — New Market, Hong Kong Market and Hazi Park – that have been closed since the lockdown to contain the spread of Covid-19 began in March, will finally reopen this week.
The announcement came just days after the Centre and state governments issued orders allowing more commercial establishments to reopen.
The DC stated through an order that shops in New Market, Hong Kong Market, Hazi Park will be allowed to open from September 4 subject to several conditions, including odd-even system.
Conditions for Hazi Park (Hong Kong Market):
- All shops located within the market/building complex are to be opened on alternate days following odd-even system, i.e, Monday, Wednesday and Friday for stores with odd number; Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday for stores with even number.
- Shops which are outside the complex/market or on the roadside are allowed to open daily.
- Shops that are located at Hazi Park in B and C Line are to be opened on alternate days, i.e, Monday, Wednesday, Friday — B Line; Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday — C Line.
Conditions for New Market:
- All the shops that are located within the market complex are to be opened on alternate days following odd-even system, i.e Monday, Wednesday and Friday — odd number; Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday — Even Number.
- Fish market to be opened daily, however one way entry/exit shall be maintained.
- Dry fish/mutton/chicken stalls are to open daily in compliance with all safety protocols of Covid-19.
In pursuance to the order of the chief secretary of Nagaland government, the deputy commissioner of Dimapur has also permitted various economic activities to resume in the district, provided the SOPs issued by the government are followed.
Business establishments that can reopen:
- All shops dealing in essential and non-essential commodities in Dimapur district will be open from Monday to Saturday. The shops can remain open as per normal business hours.
- Shopping malls, restaurants, hotels, hospitality units, barber shops, salons, beauty parlours, gymnasiums and yoga institutes are allowed to open and function subject to strict compliance of the guidelines issued by the government.
- Vegetable vendors will sell vegetables in the colonies/villages only and not in the daily markets. Vegetable vendors will be allowed to sell vegetables in Supermarket, but hawkers/vendors along Supermarket footpath will be prohibited.
