Kohima, June 2 (EMN):
New Market colony in Kohima is setting up a temporary quarantine centre at Government High School, which is located within the colony.

The panchayat members informed Eastern Mirror that the facility would quarantine the returnees on completion of their institutional quarantine for another 14 days.

The facility can shelter about 12 persons at a time with a separate toilet for each.

The initiative is being jointly undertaken by the New Market Area Panchayat (NMAP), New Market Youth Organisation (NMYO) and New Market Women Organisation (NMWO).

The three organisations have borne all the expenses made for the necessary arrangements at the quarantine centre, while well-wishers from the colony have been coming forward to donate to the Covid-19 relief fund of the colony.

For the construction of toilets and bathrooms at the school, timber worth more than INR 30,000 has been donated by the three mills situated within the colony.

The construction of the quarantine centre will be completed on Wednesday (June 3).

Besides the government’s SOP, the colony has laid down its own guidelines for the inmates at the home quarantine centre.
