New Market (B), Adroit Boys, Naga Utd and Twenty-XI move ahead

KOHIMA, SEPTember 24

It was a goal scoring day as the four matches played today witnessed 23 goals scored as New Market (B), Adroit Boys Football Club, Naga United Club and Twenty-XI Viswema won their respective matches on the fourth day of the ongoing NSF Martyrs’ Memorial Trophy organized by Angami Students’ Union under the theme ‘Goal for Peace’ at Kohima Local Ground. In the first match, New Market (B) defeated Oasis Football Club, Mezoma by 4-0 goals, all scored in the first half of the match. Achama Shititi, Akhrielie Yiese scored one each in the 5th and 18th minute while Mhasilie Krose contributed two goals in the 21st and 25th minute.
In the second match, Adroit Boys defeated Apex Football Club by 3-0. Petevikho Kitshü contributed the first two goals in the 11th and 19th minutes. Kumajagin Singson of Apex FC was penalised with a yellow card in the 35th minute.
The second half also commenced with a yellow card shown against Diethozotuo of Adroit Boys in the 43rd minute. The final goal was netted by Mezhüzokho Nipu in the 58th minute.
While Naga United Club defeated Skull Rangers by 4-1 in the third match of the day.
Punoro Chakhesang netted first in the 11th minute followed by Kezevituo Angami’s second in the 21st minute. Punoro scored his second in the 22nd minute to lead the first half with 3-0.
Skull Rangers made efforts to come back to the game and managed to bring down the margin with goal in the 42nd minute through Dakie. However, they failed to further bring down the margin but Povil Angami sealed the scoreboard with the fourth goal for Naga United Club in the injury added time.
The fourth match of the day was also a totally one-sided with Twenty-XI Viswema knocking out Kokuoyux FC by 6-1.
It was Meyoho Sothu opening the flood gates in the 10th minute which was immediately followed by Vitsopi Kin doubling the margin within a minute. Meyoho scored his second and third for the team in the 17th minute followed by Kuhein netting the fourth in the 18th minute. Metol Neikha struck the fifth goal to end the first half with a five– nil lead.
After the lemon break, it was Vingore Neikha giving the team the sixth lead in the 55th minute, but interestingly this time, starting the ball from the centre, Kokouyux FC managed to find their face saver through Diethosituo.
Nonetheless, the seventh goal for Twenty-XI came in through Kuvito Sothu in the 65th minute which was followed by the eight within the next couple of minutes through Vingore Neikha to win the match by a difference of seven goals.
