Apple’s upcoming flagship iPhone 15 models are expected to be something special for fans, with the inclusion of a USB-C port for the first time.

Although the release is still several months away, new renders have given us a glimpse at what the non-Pro iPhone 15 might look like.

First shared by 9to5Mac, these CAD-based renders show two significant changes from the iPhone 14: a larger 6.2-inch display with a Dynamic Island pill-shaped cutout replacing the infamous notch, and a USB-C connector at the bottom of the device, replacing the Lighting port.

Although at first glance the vanilla iPhone 15 looks very similar to the iPhone 14, there is a noticeable change in the display area. For instance, the upcoming non-pro iPhone is expected to come with the same Dynamic Island feature of the iPhone 14 Pro, along with a slightly larger display. The Dynamic Island was the standout feature of last year’s iPhone 14 Pro, giving users a new way to interact with the handset. However, last year, the feature was missing from the non-pro models.

According to the leaked images, the vanilla iPhone 15 will not feature capacitive buttons but rather, it will come with traditional physical buttons instead. Perhaps this feature will be reserved for its Pro siblings. Additionally, the non-pro iPhone 15 could feature the same dual-camera setup as found on the iPhone 14.

The iPhone 15 Pro, on the other hand, made headlines last week when CAD renders were leaked on the internet. If the leaks are to be taken seriously, the Pro model will feature a substantially larger rear camera and a more rounded elegant design around some of its edges. The back of the iPhone 15 Pro will still house three cameras and the LiDAR scanner inside the camera island. Additionally, the Pro variant is also rumoured to arrive with capacitive buttons instead of physical buttons.

Apple is expected to launch the Pro iPhone model with its latest A17 Bionic SoC and the vanilla models could feature the older A16 Bionic chipset.

Please note that Apple has not officially confirmed any of this and it is just pure speculation at this point. As always, Apple is expected to launch the iPhone 15 series in September, just like the iPhone 14 series before it. However, as we approach the release date, new information will inevitably surface and we will be right there to report on it.
