Dimapur, July 21 (EMN): While appreciating the central government for appointing RN Ravi as the governor of Nagaland, the Naga People’s Front (NPF) has stated that this development should not hamper the ongoing Indo-Naga talks.
A press release from the party on Sunday lauded the central government for appointing Ravi “who is well-versed with the Naga people particularly, a man who is working closely with the Naga political issue.”
It urged the central government as well as the Naga political groups to hammer out a solution at the earliest. “Ravi’s appointment should not delay the solution in any way but be another milestone in bringing solution, which is a long felt desire of the Naga people for decades.”
The party hoped that New Delhi would not resort to “delay tactics but give a sincere effort for the resolution of the Naga political problem.” According to the NPF, appointing a new interlocutor at this juncture may delay the solution.
It asserted that sending Ravi to Nagaland “as a constitutional head and interlocutor” should create a better co-relation to hammer out solution to the vexed Naga political problem.
