Dimapur, June 22 (EMN): The structural construction works of the New High Court Complex in Kohima is nearly 75% complete and main complex is expected to be ready before the end of this year though the project took time due to  “staggered flow of fund”, according to an update from the personal assistant of Dr. Chumben Murry, Advisor for Law and Justice.

Dr. Murry on Wednesday visited the New High Court Complex in Kohima, which is under construction, along with the department officials and the contractor.

The legislator was informed that the granting of a separate High Court for Nagaland was expected to be tabled on the floor of the Parliament in the coming sessions.

‘He was also informed that the repair and renovation of the old court complex was complete with construction of additional court rooms capable of holding a full-fledged State High Court,’ read the update.

It may be recalled that the chief minister of Nagaland had said during this year’s budget session that the High Court construction project was put on hold for a long time because of the CBI case but the contractors would be allowed to start working.

He had also said that a proposal had been forwarded to the Union ministry for funds, and even if that didn’t work, the state would find other sources to complete the construction work on time.
