Yitachu disclosed this in his address at the parent’s day celebration of St. Joseph Higher Secondary School, Chumukedima, this afternoon. Yitachu declared that there should be certain balancing act between private and government run schools while introducing the new education policy. In the new education policy, government envisioned to depute Hindi, Mathematics and Science teachers from government schools to private schools. Yitachu was all praise for private schools for bringing out the best in students both in academic and other curricular activities. He has credited the achievement to the devotion and dedication of teachers despite meager salary in comparison to government school teachers. On the much talked about unity in the Naga society, Yitachu said real unity is not in us today. Chairman of Chumoukedima village council and OSD Patkai Christian College, Razouvotuo Chatsu, in his exhortation, showered accolades on Catholic schools for imparting quality education. He said it was the sheer devotion and dedication to service that Catholic schools have drawn huge number of students. He has urged the teachers not to betray the responsibility reposed on them by parents and nation in moulding the students into a responsible citizen. He has sought the collective efforts of both parents and teachers to make the school one of the best in Nagaland. Deputy District Education Officer and guest of honour, Amongla Jamir, also addressed the gathering. Presentation of songs, choreography, dances and cultural items have added colours to the celebration.
