KOHIMA — The newly constructed school building of Living Christian School (LCS) in Zuketsa, under Phek district, was inaugurated by Visakho Therie, additional chief engineer of the department of Power, on November 23.
LCS was sponsored by the Leshemi, Lasumi, Zapami, Lewoza, and Zuketsa Baptist churches and was established in 1985, according to an update. The event was also an alumni meet.
Addressing the gathering, Therie emphasised the need to provide quality education and to transform the institution into a centre of excellence that attracts others. He called for greater participation and collective efforts to achieve the desired target.
Weku Zhiemi (NCS), under secretary, spoke on behalf of the alumni, while Sabou Krome, president of the Zuketsa Area Public Organisation, addressed the gathering with an exhortation. Chakhesang Students’ Union (CSU) president Pfhulo Sara also shared greetings.

A brief report on the construction of the new school building was presented by Lhiwepe Khutsoh, convenor of the planning, development and finance committee.
The dedication service for the new building was led by Nyitso Therie, while Rev. Dr. Dingu Kenye, pastor of Lasumi Baptist Church, offered the dedicatory prayer.
The programme was attended by pastors and church workers from the sponsoring churches, the council chairman, GBs, VDB secretaries, student unions from Leshemi, Lasumi, Zapami, Lewoza, and Zuketsa, the Zuketsa town ad hoc committee, gazetted officers of Kuzha-Netho Ketshu, public leaders, and well-wishers.
