Nagaland Cricket Association formally hands over charge to new Apex Council for 2026-2029, reaffirming commitment to cricket development statewide

DIMAPUR — The Nagaland Cricket Association (NCA) on Friday formally handed over charge to its newly elected Apex Council for the 2026–2029 tenure during its first Apex Council meeting.
A press release informed that the formal handing and taking over ceremony marked the beginning of the new council's tenure, with the outgoing office-bearers transferring responsibilities to the newly elected team.
The new Apex Council is headed by President Watinuksung Jamir and comprises Vice President Khamongo Humtsoe, Honorary Secretary Menguvilie Sakhrie, Joint Secretary Nikika G Zhimomi, Honorary Treasurer Ketholelie Sogotsu and Apex Council Member Vezokho Chotso.

Following the meeting, members of the outgoing and incoming Apex Councils paid a courtesy call on Chief Minister and Chief Patron of the Nagaland Cricket Association, Neiphiu Rio, as well as the association's patrons, Abu Metha and KT Sukhalu.
During the meeting, the council expressed gratitude for their continued guidance, encouragement and support towards the promotion and development of cricket in the state.
The association also acknowledged the continued support extended by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) under the leadership of its Honorary Secretary, Devajit Saikia.
The newly elected Apex Council later paid a courtesy visit to Sebastian Zumvü, chairman of the Sovima Village Council, to thank the village for its longstanding cooperation and support to the association and its activities.
