Dimapur, June 23 (EMN): The Nerhemia Krotho of Kohima has denounced what it alleged was a raid by the Assam Rifles on the residence of a local contractor. The organisation issued note on Sunday expressing its displeasure at said raid.
The union has denounced the raid said to have been conducted by the Assam Rifles on the residence of Kezhaleo Rülho, a class-1 contractor, on the night of June 20 at lower Bayavü, in Kohima.
‘The raid which was carried out without any valid reason is an intrusion to personal life that tantamount to human rights violation and created fear psychosis in the minds of the innocent citizens,’ the Nerhemia Krotho stated.
‘The Assam Rifles as the guardian of the society committing such act which disturbs the tranquillity and peaceful living of the society is uncalled for and hence should exercise maximum restraint.’
