Dimapur, Nov. 15 (EMN): Master of social work (MSW) trainees on community development specialisation of North East Institute of Social Sciences and Research (NEISSR) organised a poster presentation on the 17 sustainable development goals on November 13 in its conference hall.
The poster presentation was organised with an aim to promote awareness towards achieving those goals at the personal, institutional, local, national and international level. The main objective was to gear the participants towards attainment of sustainable development, NEISSR statement said on Friday.
The presentation was witnessed by the students and management and accordingly questions were raised on various topics. The poster presentation of the 17 goals were divided among six groups with four members. Each poster focused on the term “sustainability” which viewed it as humanity’s target goal of human-ecosystem equilibrium. Each of the 17 goals have specific targets to be achieved by 2030, inclusive of all the countries around the world and not just the poor countries, the release stated.
The event marked the beginning of attaining those goals to the civil society and people everywhere for which concerted action is required on all fronts.
On the occasion, Rev. Dr. Fr. CP Anto, principal of NEISSR, encouraged the trainees to be agents towards achieving those set targets.
