Neikha inaugurates GPS Kezo Basa new building

Kohima, Dec 9 (EMN): Advisor for Youth Resources and Sports, Zale Neikha, on Thursday inaugurated a new building at Government Primary School in Kezo Basa under Kohima district.

Neikha, in his inaugural address, acknowledged Nagaland Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio, for initiating development activities in the area. He also laid emphasis on the need to increase the number of enrolment in the school so that all children in the village could have access to education. He also urged the teachers to do their part to improve the educational standard in the village.

Meanwhile, the advisor also exhorted the parents to nurture their children at home so that they excel in all aspects of their future career.

The joint director of School Education (Samagra Shiskha), Dr. Kevizakie Rio, in his address, informed that there are a total of 1953 government schools and around 20,000 teachers in Nagaland. The joint director stated that Samagra Shiksha aims to create a government school in all recognised villages in Nagaland.

He also underlined that parents, teachers and the village leaders are the pillars of students. Rio further stated that the government plans to provide better facilities and able teachers to the schools in Nagaland.

The pastor of KBBC, Rokosuto Mekro, offered the dedicatory prayer and VCC of Kezo-basa, Medovi Yongo, delivered welcome address. The programme was chaired by Kevineito Zecho.
