NEIGRIHMS radiologist awarded prestigious FRCR

DIMAPUR — Dr. Humsheer Singh Sethi, a senior resident of Department of Radiodiagnosis at North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (NEIGRIHMS), Shillong, was awarded the prestigious Fellowship of the Royal College of Radiology (FRCR) by the Royal College of Radiology (RCR), London.

Dr. Sethi joined the elite group of radiologists internationally to receive this fellowship, which is regarded as one of the top three most challenging fellowship exams globally, an update stated.

Typically awarded to radiologists practicing in the United Kingdom, the FRCR signifies the highest level of expertise in diagnostic radiology.

Having undergone a rigorous two-year training programme adhering to the Royal College’s stringent standards, he demonstrated an exceptional dedication.

“Dr. Sethi has chosen to forego opportunities to work in the National Health Service (NHS) in the UK, opting instead to serve the people of Meghalaya at NEIGRIHMS,” it stated.

 Prof. C Daniala, Medical Superintendent and head of the Department of Radiodiagnosis at NEIGRIHMS, commenting on Dr. Sethi’s achievement, praised his personal commitment and highlighted the institution’s high standards of training and education.

She expressed confidence that Dr. Sethi’s expertise will further enhance the quality of healthcare services at NEIGRIHMS.

Prof. Nalin Mehta, Director of NEIGRIHMS, commended Dr. Sethi for his dedication and decision to serve the people of Meghalaya, foregoing opportunities abroad.

“His expertise will undoubtedly contribute significantly to the advancement of radiology services in our region,” he added.
