Dimapur, May 25 (EMN): North East Forum for Indigenous People (NEFIP), a conglomerate of civil society organisations for the protection of endangered rights of the marginalised indigenous people of North East, expressed shock over the inhumane killing of Tirong Aboh, MLA of Khonsa West Assembly, his son Longgem and nine others on May 21.
“Differences we may have, weaknesses one may have, faults one may have committed, but resorting to such senseless violence cannot be, and should not be a way to address any of such issues,’ said Ningthouja Lancha, NEFIP convenor.
It stated that such acts would only jeopardise “our own capacity to build bridges and thereby weakening the solidarity amongst the threatened indigenous communities of the region.”
It further condemned the incident of killing Tirong Aboh, his son and nine others. NEFIP also conveyed condolence to the bereaved families and prayed to the Almighty God to give them the strength to bear with their loss.
