Dimapur, April 15 (EMN):
In view of the surge in number of Covid-19 cases in the country, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has decided to postpone the National Eligibility-Cum-Entrance Test (NEET) – Postgraduate 2021, which was scheduled to be held on April 18.

The announcement came a day after the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) cancelled examinations for class 10, while postponing exams for class 12, citing the present situation and safety of students.

“Looking at the present situation of the pandemic and taking into account the safety and well-being of the students, it is decided that the NEET-PG 2021 exam scheduled to be held on 18th April, 2021 be postponed. The next date of examination would be announced after reviewing the situation later. A notice will be issued well in advance before the conduct of examination,” read the statement from the Union Health ministry.

It added that its earlier letter dated 13th April 2021 stands withdrawn.

Union Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan also took to Twitter to announce the same. He wrote that the decision to postpone NEET-PG 2021 was taken keeping the “well-being of our young medical students in mind”.
