Neepco organises Covid vaccination drive

Dimapur, May 13 (EMN): North Eastern Electric Power Corporation Limited (Neepco) health centre at Doyang Hydro Electric Plant (Dhep) carried out Covid-19 vaccination drive five times at its centre under the guidance and assistance from district immunisation officer, Dr. Khelito Zhimomi in which as many as 525 beneficiaries were inoculated.

An update from Neepco deputy general manager Dr. DC Haloi stated that beneficiaries were frontline workers (CISF, NAP), healthcare workers, eligible Neepco employees and their dependents, VKV staff and eligible beneficiaries residing in Doyang locality. The camps were organised with the objective to rapidly immunise all eligible employees amid the second wave of infections.

It added that all the safety protocols were followed during the vaccination camps.

It mentioned that the DHEP is a 75 megawatt power generation plant of Neepco Ltd. and its health centre provides all necessary medical and healthcare services to the employees, their dependant and local populace living in proximity to the project.

Meanwhile, Dr. DC Haloi has thanked the district health authority, Wokha, for their collaboration and support by providing all the necessary vaccines and other items from Englan PHC cold chain point. He further hoped that Neepco would receive all essential aid from the district health authority in order to curb the Covid-19 pandemic. He also assured uninterrupted power supply.
