‘NE should come together to survive and progress’

Correspondent KOHIMA, SEPTEMBER 13 NAGALAND Chief Secretary Alemtemshi Jamir on Friday stressed on the need for the North East states to come together in order to survive and progress ahead.Launching the Kangla Food Products, Nagaland Unit an indigenous food product corporation of Manipur, at Hotel Japfu here this evening, Jamir said the NE region is immensely blessed with natural and vibrant human resources. Nonetheless, he lamented that the internal differences between the people of the region has been holding the region from marching ahead. He said it is time for the NE states to come together and accept the fact that none can live without the support of other. He maintained that if the people come together, industrialization is possible and several opportunities available while challenging “let us come together and survive or sink”. There are lots of entrepreneurial capabilities amongst the North Easterners and the need of the hour for the region is to fully harness successful entrepreneur, he said. Citing that setting up of the Kangla Food Products Ltd. is big challenge in front of other major companies, he however was optimistic that this would open up ways for development of entrepreneurship in the region and also take up more challenges. “This should be new beginning of economic and cultural relationship amongst the NE states,” he aspired. Managing Director Kangla Food Product, A Birendra Singh maintained the firm is committed to enhance customer satisfaction by providing quality products and services and also to contribute to socio-economic development through sustainable livelihood of the NE India by continuously improving the effectiveness of the quality management system and employee development. The KFPL have set forward the objective of not using chemicals in the products, he asserted adding that it has also been utilizing the approach of local based resources, inclusive of manpower. The KFPL present has 21 food items, some of which include Allo Bhujia, Moong Dal, Masur Mixture, Badam Pakora, Chana Dal, Potato Chips & Rafle etc. The organizer of Nagaland Unit of Kangla Food Product is Yavituo Kire.
