NDPP Zunheboto welcomes Kaito Aye into the party

Dimapur, Sep. 6 (EMN):
The Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) Zunheboto region organised a felicitation programme for G Kaito Aye, Minister for Agriculture and Cooperation, government of Nagaland, on September 5 after he joined the party.

The programme was held at the residence of NDPP Zunheboto region resident Khehoshe H Yeptho, informed an update from the media and communication committee of the party in the region.

While addressing the gathering, Yeptho briefed the gathering about the formation of NDPP in 2017 and how it came to power in the state with the support of the people. ‘When a party works with diligence, success is always guaranteed,’ he said.

He said the installation of Aye into the NDPP has strengthened the party in Zunheboto region, and that they are now “more confident to face any hurdle in the future.” He also apprised him of the problems faced at the grassroots level and requested the minister and his advisors to solve them.

Yeptho requested the minister to look into the problems like Civil Hospital Zunheboto, which is in deplorable condition; administration office; multi-cultural complex and skill development centres; and Government Higher Secondary School. He also asked to provide facilities to Zunheboto Government College in order to fulfil the criteria needed for NAAC accreditation.

Pukhayi Sumi said the sole purpose of the programme was to welcome Aye into the party and to Zunheboto region in particular. Stating that the party members in the area were encourage by the presence of a senior leader like him, he said he was looking forward to his leadership.

Advisor for school education, KT Sukhalu said that the NDPP Zunheboto region and Nagas in general are blessed to have a “matured political leader” like Aye.

Speaking to the gathering, Aye said that a political party doesn’t function because of an individual but with the cooperation and efforts from all corners. He said that he left the JD (U) party not because of pressure from anybody but to strengthen the NDPP and the “Naga political issues”.

Saying that the Naga Political issue can be solved only when the people are united, he urged the gathering to mobilise the people who have been disintegrated due to political agendas.

He said “NDPP will be party that stands for common good not just to rule” and reminded that the people that he is a minister of Nagaland and not for any particular tribe. He also encouraged the party leaders to take up social works like helping the victims of natural disaster.

The felicitation programme was chaired by vice president of NDPP Zunheboto region Kiheto Phuleshe and recorded by general secretary P Hutovi Awomi.
