NDPP Zunheboto region targets to enrol 25,000 members

Dimapur, Oct. 7 (EMN): As part of its mission to expand the party in the district, the Zunheboto region of the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) has set a target to enrol 25,000 members.

The decision to this effect was taken during a co-ordination meeting of the NDPP Zunheboto region along with the central party leadership in-charge of Zunheboto district led by the vice presidents Ahovi Zhimomi and Zhuwoto Kiba and general secretaries Aheto Yeptho and Kakheho Yeptho, held at the residence of the region president on October 6.

An update stated that the house thoroughly deliberated on issues ranging from party affairs and its growth and expansion besides improvement of infrastructure and development works in Zunheboto district.

Speeches were delivered by the president of NDPP Zunheboto region, Khehoshe H Yeptho, all the four officials representing the central office and the president of the seven assembly constituencies. It stated that the assembly constituency presidents also submitted the status reports of their respective constituencies.

The meeting was attended by the party executives of the region and the office bearers from the seven constituencies comprising 13-Pughoboto, 31-Akuluto, 32-Atoizu, 33-Suruhuto, 34-Aghunato, 35-Zunheboto and 36-Satakha.

Meanwhile, the members have conveyed appreciation to the chief minister of Nagaland, Neiphiu Rio, NDPP president Chingwang Konyak and NDPP legislators from Zunheboto district for paving the way to enable the NDPP Zunheboto region to procure its office building at Zunheboto town.

Meanwhile, the NDPP central youth organisation led by its president, Kelhouneizo Yhome, and the secretary Pahen Phom, held a consultative meeting with the office bearers of the Longleng region counterparts on October 7. The meeting was conducted following all Covid-19 protocols.

The team was led by its vice president Meyisanger Lemtur, accompanied by secretaries namely Vichosel Rhütso and Atoska Swu. The team also visited the Mon unit and held a consultative meeting with the youth organisation.
During the meeting, the team highlighted the various plans and programmes of the party and to strengthen the party at the grassroots.

It was reported that the team had highlighted on the PDA stand to support the ongoing Naga political talks. The team had also stressed on the need for collective efforts to fight the novel coronavirus pandemic in close co-ordination with the government agencies.

A NDPP central youth organisation statement stated that the youth of the Longleng region has supported strengthening the party.

In a separate programme, NDPP central team led by its vice president Meyinsanger and the youth secretaries Vichosel Rhutso and Atoska Swu held a consultative meeting with the Tuensang region on October 6.
It was reported that the team had distributed 1500 face masks to all the participants in the presence of its president L Tochi Chang.

yet another programme, NDPP Wokha region paid a cordial visit to the Lotha Baptist Churches Association (LBCA) Vangkhosung on October 7 and briefly highlighted the party’s vision, principles and ideologies.

The party officials stated that NDPP stands for peace, unity and brotherhood adding that it would oppose all forms of violence, discrimination and oppression regardless of race, creed, gender, age, disability and religion.

The party informed that it has elected its general secretary TL Merry as the convenor of Wokha district, while it has elected YM Humtsoe as vice president, Renbio as secretary and Margaret Ngullie as secretary.
