KOHIMA — The Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) has urged the electorate of Ward No. 7 (Daklane) in Kohima to vote for the party candidate Kazheli Tungoe (Ali) for equitable development and to make Kohima a better city.
Kazheli has assured to work towards empowering the youth, women and affirmative groups (people with disability, elderly) and create a model ward in the capital with holistic community development.
While assuring to give her best and work with all transparency for the welfare of the colony together with the government, she requested the people to give her a chance by voting in her favour on June 26.
Also speaking on the occasion, minister of Women Resource Development and Horticulture, Salhoutuonuo Kruse, described Kazheli as good human and appealed voters to support her.
Stating that PDA government under Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio, would continue till 2028, she Kruse assured to work hand in hand with the government and bring more development and progress to the ward.
Chairman of Daklane Panchayat, Vibeilie Metha, has reaffirmed on ‘one man one vote’ and clean and fair election. He expressed happiness as all the candidates are following the laid down guidelines by the State Election Commission.
Short speeches were delivered advisor of School Education and SCERT, Dr. Kekhrielhoulie Yhome; former chairman of Daklane, Mhiesizokho Zinyū; PA to minister Kruse, Vikholie Yiese; and vice president of NDPP Nagaland, Theyiekielie Tacü.
Thanksgiving event held
A thanksgiving programme for Kelhousenuo Khruomo, an unopposed elected representative of Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) from Ward 1 (High School) was held on Saturday evening in Kohima.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Kekhrielhoulie Yhome, advisor of School Education and SCERT, has stressed the need for cooperation with villagers in the district to make Kohima ‘the mirror of Nagaland’ and urged all the residents to treat the city as their own. He also urged the citizens of Ward 1 to continue supporting Khruomo for the growth of the city.
Addressing the gathering, Khruomo expressed gratitude to the NDPP party working committee for their trust in her capabilities.
“Being elected unopposed reflects the trust you, the people of Ward 1, have placed on me. This trust is a profound responsibility,” she stated and pledged to prioritise in fulfilling the shared goals.
Khruomo also assured to work closely with the youth and all ward members to foster unity and progress.
Atuolie Mepfhüo, chairman of Ward 1; Vibeilietuo Kets, special assistant to the chief minister; and Thejao Sekhose, president of the Nagaland Urban Council Federation (NUCF); also spoke on the occasion.
Meanwhile, a public rally for Beizo Solo, NDPP candidate from Ward 19 (Jail, Supply and PR Hill colonies) was held on June 21.
Speaking at the rally, Solo pledged to take forward the colony grievances to the government. Cleanliness and sanitation, development of drainage system, construction of retaining wall and building panchayat halls in colonies were some of his focused areas.
Zhaleo Rio, advisor of Urban Development and Municipal Affairs, and Kudecho Khamo, advisor of CAWD and Taxes, and others campaigned for Solo.
