WOKHA — Wokha region of the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) on Thursday held a consultative meeting-cum-pre Christmas celebration at Hammock Resort in Wokha town.

Advisor of Agriculture and legislator in-charge of NDPP Wokha region, Mhathung Yanthan; advisor to Chief Minister, Dr. Chumben Murry; and members from central executive body (CEB) attended the programme.

Extending Christmas greetings and a prosperous New Year 2024 to the people of Nagaland, the meeting highlighted the success of NDPP and BJP government over the years. The party spoke on the tireless effort of Mhathung Yanthan for dealing with all four assembly constituencies in the district.

The Wokha region of NDPP appreciated the vision of its party president, Chingwang Konyak, and Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio, for making a history by electing women in the state election. They also acknowledged the recent passage of the Municipal Act advocating 33% reservation for women.

The NDPP Wokha region also congratulated Wangpang Konyak for his victory in the recent bye-election from 43 Tapi AC and also expressed gratitude to the electorate of the constituency for electing him with a thumping majority.

In the meeting NDPP Wokha region affirmed support to the ongoing Naga peace talk and urged for an early political settlement that is honourable, acceptable and inclusive.

The meeting culminated with a pledge to rededicate and work in strengthening the party extended unflinching support to Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio, and party president, Chingwang Konyak.
