Mokokchung, Feb. 27 (EMN): Presidents and secretaries of the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) units in ten assembly constituencies in Mokokchung have adopted resolutions ‘to create a congenial environment for the party and (for) cooperation,’ on February 26.
An update on Wednesday informed that a meeting was held in the residence of 26th Aonglenden assembly constituency’s NDPP president.
Besides working toward achieving the goals of the party, it was informed that they ‘resolved to work cohesively for better coordination and also to create a congenial environment for the party to function smoothly across various constituencies of the district.
In view of the forthcoming Lok Sabha and the 26 Aonglenden assembly constituency elections the members resolved to ‘fight united’ for the victory of the NDPP candidate, the updates informed.
Further, the members unanimously resolved that ‘We shall continue to vehemently support the decisive and visionary leadership of Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, NDPP President Chingwang Konyak and also the senior leaders of the party.’
Alongtaki
The NDPP unit of the 30th Alongtaki assembly constituency held a programme to mark the inauguration of the party treasure’s residence at Longchem in Mangkolemba in Mokokchung district, on February 26.
The residence was officially dedicated by the party’s Mokokchung unit president N Bendang Jamir, who hoisted the party flag to mark the occasion, a press release from the unit stated on Wednesday.
The assembly constituency is currently represented by Minister Temjen Imna Along Longkumer of the Bharatiya Janata Party, the unit stated.
In his address, Jamir appealed to the party’s workers to be devoted to their work for the good of the Naga people “without seeking any personal benefits,” the press release asserted.
Asking the workers to support the government ‘in every possible manner,’ the unit’s president said that new and innovative policies and programmes are being framed and implemented for the people of Nagaland by the People’s Democratic Alliance government led by Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, and the party’s president, Chingwang Konyak.
“The party will not grow strong unless the party worker starting from the bottom support government and in the party,” he was quoted as having stated.
The press release read: ‘Jamir also asserted that there are times in political arena where the party might lose even it put all its efforts because that is the nature in the game of politic and thereby encouraged his comrades not to be disheartened but to be resilience if such juncture arises in future.’
The workers of the party were advised ‘not to succumb to the ploy schemed by adversaries but to query through proper channels to ascertain the facts before making a hasty conclusion,’ the press release stated.
“He further challenged the comrades to envision and work towards the formation NDPP government as the single largest party in the forthcoming Nagaland state general election in 2023, stating that a government formed by a single party is more efficient for the people,” the press release added.
